Charles Williams

Charles Williams, 94 a resident of Dothan passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held 10:30am Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Memory Hill Cemetery with Rev. Stacy Stafford officiating and Sunset Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 423 E Cottonwood Rd, Dothan, AL 36301. Mr. Williams was born August 1, 1923 in Houston County and resided in Dothan. He graduated from Dothan High School in 1942 and was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a tail gunner. Mr. Williams returned from the war and was employed with the U.S. Postal Services for over 30 years. He was an excellent carpenter and craftsman and did remodeling and refinishing antique furniture during his retirement. He earned his real estate licenses too. He enjoyed meeting every morning at the mall to fellowship with his walk and talk group. Mr. Williams was a life long member of South Side Baptist Church and the Frank Newton Sunday School Class. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife Virginia West Williams; his son, Dr. C. David Williams; his parents, Ealey and Irene Williams. Survivors include his sister, Elsie Williams Jackson; several nieces and nephews.
