Christina Patricia “Patty” Johnson

August 15, 1960 — July 21, 2020

Christina Patricia "Patty" Johnson, a resident of the Rehobeth Community, passed away on Tuesday, July 21,2020 in a local hospital following a brief illness. She was 59 years old. A private graveside service will be held in Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Teresa Seevers and Dr. Jerry Grandstaff officiating. A celebration of her life will be held at 7:00 pm on Saturday, August 15, 2020 in the Amphitheater at the National Peanut Festival Fair Grounds. Before her illness, Patty was working to replace the children's playground at Greystone that had been destroyed by a tornado. In lieu of flowers we ask that you make a donation in Patty's memory to the Greystone UMC playground fund. Patty was born on August 15, 1960 in Germany and lived the early years of her life there before moving the US at age 12. She was a school bus driver for 30 years for Rehobeth School and was also the Children's Minister at Greystone United Methodist Church. Patty will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, her love for her family, and for anyone she met, and her angelic singing voice. Patty was preceded in death by her father, Bobby D. Goins. Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Michael Johnson; her children, Justin Godwin (Michelle), Danielle Atwell (Amory), Bethany McGhee (Shaun), Blake Johnson (Brooke); her mother, Wilma Goins; her brother, Cary Goins (Veronica); 9 Grandchildren, Addison Godwin, Kaylee Green (Caleb), Kailyn Green, Carter and Reagan Stevens, Stedman, Sebastian and Maverick McGhee and Parker Johnson; one great grandchild, Emery Knighton; and her two grand dogs, Sassy and Princess.
