Chuck Warden

October 10, 1944 — November 15, 2016

Chuck Warden, age 72, of Webb, AL died on November 15, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer.

Early in his career he worked as a contractor with NASA during the 1960's and early 70's.  He moved to Webb in 1972 to work at Farley Nuclear Plant during its infancy. He retired in 1998 as a Nuclear Instructor at Farley Nuclear Plant. He had a handful of friends who were like gold to him although he was mostly a private person. Chuck was a runner and Triathlete in the early 1980's before it became popular. While watching the first Ironman Triathlon from his couch, he stated, "I can do that." The next year he did it. He and Tracey, his loving wife of 34 years, traveled the country multiple times while enjoying life to its fullest. He was always happiest on his sailboat or in the mountains of Western North Carolina where he was most comfortable.  To say that Chuck was "one of a kind" would be an understatement. He was a loving husband, a wonderful father and a great teacher.

Chuck is survived by his wife Tracey Guthrie Warden of Webb, AL; his son Jimmy Jennifer Warden of Webb; his sister, Mary E. Baldwin of Birmingham; his granddaughter, Makinley Warden of Webb; special family friend Arthur Lawrence.

Burial Date: January 1, 1970
