Clair Raymond Olson, a resident of Dothan passed away on Friday, March 19, 2010 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 85.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Aaron Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.Mr. Olson was born on April 3, 1924 in Fairmont, MN and lived most of his life there. He relocated to Magnolia Springs, AL where he lived for 12 years and has lived in Dothan since 2008. Mr. Olson was a veteran of WWII in the European Theater having served in the U.S. Army. He was the owner/operator of Stromberg and Olson Paint & Wallpaper for over 40 years. In Fairmont he was a member of St. Martins Episcopal Church, the past president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Lions Club, and a member of the VFW.Mr. Olson was preceded in death by his parents, Soren and Ellen Olson, 2 grandchildren Timothy Olson and Sean Olson, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.Survivors include his wife Jean Olson of Dothan; his sons, Michael Olson and his wife Elizabeth of Dothan, Roger Olson and his wife Sherry of Chisago City, MN, Douglas Olson and his wife Sandy of Terrytown, LA; 2 grandchildren, Perryn Olson and Daniel Olson; a sister Janice also survives.
