Clara Mell Glanton

November 21, 1942 — October 17, 2017

Clara Mell Glanton, a resident of Dothan, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Westside Terrace. She was 74.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 1 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12-1 pm on the day of the service.

Ms. Glanton was born on November 21, 1942 in Clay County, Georgia to the late Ezekiel and Alice Morrison and moved to Abbeville, Alabama at an early age. She was employed at Westpoint Pepperell and later moved to Tampa, FL and worked with National Seafood Factory. In 2005, she returned to Dothan and lived here the remainder of her life. Ms. Glanton enjoyed gardening and watching her plants grow and bloom. She loved her grandchildren and spending time with them. Ms. Glanton was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church.

Ms. Glanton was preceded in death by her son, James Morrison and her grandson, Deionte' Sanderson.

Survivors include her daughter, Rosie (Lawrence) Sanderson; her daughter-in-law, Jackie Morrison; grandchildren, Brittany Sanderson, Lawrence Sanderson III, Denye Sanderson and Jasmine Reeves; her siblings, Ezekiel Morrison, Jr., Tommy Lee (Bessie) Morrison, Mary (Raymond) Tharpe, Willie Mae Morrison and Ella Morrison; brother-in-law, Roy Lee Daniels; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
