Cornelia Helene Stewart

Cornelia Helene Stewart, 59, a resident of Ozark, AL passed away Thursday December 29, 2016 in Phenix City, AL after a brief illness.

Services will be 11 am Tuesday January 3, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Ann Baker officiating and Robert Byrd directing.  The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ms. Stewart was born on July 2, 1957 in Friedburg, Germany to the late Albert Joseph and Erna Helene Dienst. She graduated from high school in Germany and moved to Ozark, AL in the early 1980’s where she has been a resident since. She loved to read novels, work word search puzzles, and was known for her baking skills.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Michael and Volker Dienst, and a sister Heidrun Dienst.

Survivors include her children, Jessica Bankston and Kevin Marittza Stewart; two granddaughters, Taciyana Williams and Ava Stewart; two grandsons, Jamar and Kaleb Stewart; one great-grandson, Jaycen Williams; her sister, Ellen Wilson; her brother, Heinz Dienst; and a host of nieces and nephews.
