Curtis Lee Brown, 70, of Ozark, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 3 pm Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Sunset Funeral home with Pastor Teddy J. Bias and Pastor Jeff Downing officiating. Military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Brown was born April 18, 1942 in Gates County, NC and lived the early part of his life in Bertie County, NC. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and moved to Ozark in 1965 where he was employed with Paige Aircraft and Ft. Rucker for over 45 years until his retirement in 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bertha Brown; brothers, Joseph Brown, Woodrow Brown, Raymond Brown, and J.D. Brown.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years Martha Brown of Ozark; his son Wayne Trish Brown of Ozark; daughters, Suzette Brown, and Nancy Brown Noel Danner both of Ozark; granddaughters, Taylor Gonzales, Rebecka Brown and Bailee Danner of Ozark; sisters and brothers, Lillian Gandee of Melbourne, FL, Ella Leigh Clark of Melbourne, FL, Evelyn Tripp of Aulander, NC, Jimmy Brown of Powellsville, NC, and Bob Brown of Windsor, NC; sisters-in-law, Doris Brown of Melbourne, FL, Carol Anne Brown of Crystal River, FL, and Pinky Brown of Oak City, NC; several nieces and nephews also survive.
