Cynthia Anne "Cindy" Roe, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away naturally on December 4th, 2024, at the age of 72, in Dothan, Alabama. Born on April 27th, 1952, in Lakeland, Florida, Cindy's life was a testament to the power of joy, family, and the simple pleasures that make life so precious.

Cindy grew up under the Florida sun, graduating from Kathleen High School in Lakeland, where her youthful spirit set the stage for a life filled with adventure and caring. She carried the essence of the ocean with her through a career that kept her close to the water she loved so dearly. Known for her hard work and dedication, Cindy was a familiar face at local marinas and in the seafood industry, often joining her husband on his shrimp boat, forging a partnership both in business and in life that was admired by all who knew them.

Cindy's love for the sea was matched only by her love for her family. She was a cherished mother to Joanna Roe Fahrenkopf (Jeff) and Jacob "Matt" Roe, III (Mandy), a beloved sister to Albert Lang, Jr (Brenda) and Bonnie Lang Smith (Wayne), and an adored grandmother to Samantha McCollough (Dylan), Ashley Grave de Peralta (Yuliet), Mary Grace Roe, and Mason Roe. Her joy multiplied with the birth of her great-grandchildren, each of whom she held dear to her heart.

A life so full of warmth and affection leaves a legacy that endures beyond the bounds of time. Cindy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jacob "Jake" Roe, Jr, and her devoted parents, Albert and Ammie Lang. Her memory will be carried on by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends who were touched by her generous spirit.

Ms. Cindy, as she was affectionately known in her community and by former customers, had a passion for fishing and an undying love for anything related to the beach and ocean. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, whether teaching a grandchild to cast a line or sharing stories of her and Jake's youthful travels during his military service. Cindy and Jake married young and embraced a life of adventure before returning to Florida to plant their roots and build a life filled with laughter, love, and lasting memories.
