Danny Hugh Bowling

Danny Hugh Bowling, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at a local hospital. He was 66.

Memorial services with military honors will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, February 4, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 2-4 pm.

Danny was born on August 16, 1950 in Houston County and has lived here all of his life. He was a 1968 graduate of Dothan High School. Danny enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in Alaska during the Vietnam War. He returned to Dothan, worked with the Dothan Fire Department, and he received his EMT training from Wallace Community College. When Danny was not working with the City of Dothan, he would work with Pilcher's Ambulance Service. He would later work with his brother at Photorama for several years. Danny was an avid reader, loved to hunt, and loved spending time at the beach with his family.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, D.V. Shorty and Evelyn Bowling.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Patsy Bowling; his 2 sons, Jesse Dean Bowling and V. Mixon (Sharon) Bowling; his daughter, Tiffany Sharee Bowling (Mike) Skipper; his 6 grandchildren, Brianna Skipper, Blane Skipper, Jayden Britton, Jesa Frankie Bowling, Justice Bowling, and Presley Bowling; his brother, Donny (Kathy) Bowling; his sister-in-law, Saundra (Gene) McGriff; his nieces and nephews, Natalie Snell, Courtney Ray, Hillary Oliver, and Katie Barrentine; several cousins; his aunts and uncles Dwight Bowling, Jackie Windham, Sonja (Freddy) Harden and Janice (Charles) Folkes; several great-nieces and nephews.
