Danny Coy Payne

Danny Coy Payne, 63, of Skipperville, AL, left his earthly family on Monday, September 30, 2013 and went home to be with the Lord at a Dothan hospital following a brief illness.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Danny’s life at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 5th, at the family farm located on Dale County Highway 33 in Skipperville. In lieu of flowers or food, donations may be made to the Ozark/Dale County Humane Society, P.O. Box 2502, Ozark, AL, 36361.

Mr. Payne was born in Dothan, AL, on July 4, 1950, and lived his entire life in Skipperville.  While growing up and in his young adult life, he farmed with his father.  He then became a truck driver for the majority of his life.  Upon his retirement, he once again was a farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Thelma Payne of Skipperville. Survivors include his daughter, Tara Payne of Ozark; one grandson, Arlan Duke of Ozark; one brother, David Teresa Payne of Ozark; three sisters, Patsy Robert Hoskins of Ozark, Peggy Darrell Spivey of Ozark, and Pamela Anthony Danner of Ariton. He is also survived by two step-children, Kelly Bennett of GA, Rhett Christine Bennett; a step-grandson Owen Bennett of New Brockton; three nephews, Steven Laura Stubbs of Greenville, SC, Jed Danner of Enterprise, and  Matthew Spivey of Ozark; and two nieces, Elizabeth Ryan Gericke and Brooke Foist of Ozark.
