Darlene (Whitley) Whitley

Darlene Whitley, a resident of Newton, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at her residence. She was 69 years old.

Darlene was born on October 8, 1953 in Newnan, Georgia to the late Ralph and Ella Cliett Whitley, Sr. and would moved frequently in her younger years with her family because of her father's work. She moved to Dothan and was a 1972 graduate of Dothan High School, received her Bachelor's degree from Auburn University and her Master's Degree from Troy University. Her life's work would be as a teacher in special education and she would be employed with school systems in Ashford, Alabama, Houston, Texas, Augusta, Georgia, and Auburndale, Florida.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Whitley, Sr. and Earnestine Cliett Whitley and by her sister, Freda Fulcher.

Survivors include her brother, Ralph "R. A." Whitley, Jr.; her brother-in-law, Jerry McWaters; her sister, Tina Roman.
