David Ellis Carmichael

David Ellis Carmichael, 52, a resident of Cowarts passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at his residence.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Monday, October 21, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Don Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 11-1 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the David E. Carmichael Memorial Fund, c/o Army Aviation Federal Credit Union, P.O. Drawer 8, Daleville, AL, 36333.

Mr. Carmichael was born November 16, 1960 in Alexandria, VA and lived the early part of his life in Dothan. He was a 1979 graduate of Northview High School and attended East Tennessee College in Johnson City, TN. He was employed in law enforcement with the City of Headland and the City of Dothan for a total of 18 years. He was working with Pride Industries in Ft. Rucker as a locksmith at the time of his death. David was an avid Alabama Football Fan and enjoyed SCUBA diving in his youth. He attended Rainbow-Meadows Church. David was preceded in death by his brother Daniel Gordon Carmichael.

Survivors include his sons, Charles Benjamin Robbins, Robert Tanner Lauren Carmichael, and Christopher Ryan Whitney Carmichael; his parents Robert F. and Catherine Carmichael; sisters, Debbie Jim Norris and Dawn M. Patrick Clark; nieces and nephews, Taylor Cedric Wymes, Daniel Kace Carmichael, Hunter Robin Norris, Sammy Camille Norris, Danielle Hogan, and Payton Hogan.
