David Allen Hill

December 26, 1946 — September 24, 2024

David Allen Hill, known affectionately to family and friends as Dave, passed away after a brief illness on September 24, 2024, in Dothan, Alabama, at the age of 77. Born on December 26, 1946, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, he was a man whose life was marked by devotion to his family, service to his country, and a passion for the many interests that enriched his life.

Dave proudly served in the Navy for four years, including during the Vietnam War, where he worked on several aircraft carriers. He graduated from Auburn University of Montgomery, with a degree in accounting and worked diligently to earn his CPA.

Dave’s personal life was filled with love and joy. He was a cherished husband to his wife of 46 years, Jan Hill, a loving father to his son, Allen Hill (Alycia), and a doting grandfather (Dah) to Kalynn, Allie, Wright, and Bryson Hill. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Hill, and is survived by his brother, Ronald Hill (Geraldean), and brother-in-law, Chuck McLelland (Cheryl), along with a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Dave enjoyed playing golf and became involved with the Veterans group at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in Dothan.

Dave and his family were members of Frazer Church in Montgomery for over 40 years before moving to Dothan three years ago. His faith was a guiding light in his life and he loved his Lord, Jesus. Dave was a quiet, loving, intelligent, and selfless man.

Military honors will be held Friday, October 4, 2024, at 2 pm at the Sunset Memorial Park Military Pavilion. Dave will be laid to rest in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
