David Lee Thompson

December 19, 1958 — July 7, 2020

David Lee Thompson, a resident of Cottonwood, passed on Tuesday, July 7, 2020. He was 61. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home in the Reception Center on Friday, July 31, 2020 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Dave enjoyed playing sports, spending time with the grandkids and vacationing on cruise ships with his wife. He was a charismatic extrovert. Once you met him, you immediately became friends. He was incredibly smart, curious, hardworking and a quick learner. Also, a "jack of all trades" and an entrepreneur. Success was his destiny. During high school he became the youngest manager at Radio Shack. He went on to own a window tinting company called Pro-Tint. After he sold his business, in 1998 he and his wife started a homeschool company which is still going strong to this day. They also owned several school supplies stores, successfully turned an oil change building into a pizza restaurant, an old bank building into a bar/lounge and an entire school building into residential living and a commercial store. Dave enjoyed creating and running all of his businesses. However, his true passion was in the transformation process. In 2018 both he and Alexis decided to become full time investors in house flipping. In May 2019 they received an award for "Best House Flip Of The Year" He was loved by all who knew him and will be missed greatly. Survivors include his loyal and devoted wife, Alexis Anne-Marie Thompson; children Tayla Cameron, Amber Sapp, Ashley Nelson, Chayse Thompson and Shayne Thompson; his four grandchildren, Harley, Aiden, Lydia and Ansley; siblings, Karen Cashier, Linda Thompson, Marla Murray and Brian Thompson; and his buddy & granddog, Grey.
