Dennis Gordon Baker, 68, a resident of Dothan, Alabama and formerly of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 at his residence.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Mount Gilead Baptist Church with Rev. Bradley Rushing officiating and Robert Byrd directing. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mount Gilead Poverty Ministry, 2864 South Brannon Stand Road, Dothan, AL, 36305.
Mr. Baker was born November 15, 1946 in Terrell, TX and spent most of his life in the Dallas, TX area. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was employed with Tom Thumb for over 20 years and Fleming Foods for 18 years during which time he moved to Dothan in 1999. He was employed with Piggly Wiggly Distributing and most recently with Associated Warehouse Grocers; he was one of seven nationally recognized produce specialists. Mr. Baker was a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Jaelah Iliana Coello.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Lynda Baker; his son, Justin Marshall Lindsay Baker; his daughter, Amy Leigh Robert Coello; 14 grandchildren, A'Lanna, Micah, Quinn, O'Rion, Jonah, Jaeden, Jericho, Jenoah, Judah, Justice, Journey, Jantzen, Sabrina, and Victoria; his brothers, Fulton Coolidge Diane Baker and George Clark Baker; nieces and nephews, Audra, Matt, Clark James, Tiffany, and Jeff.
