Dewey Lee Richards

Dewey Lee Richards of Enterprise, AL passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness. He was 62.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at 2 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Smith and Rev. Roger Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 30, 2009 from 6-8 pm.Mr. Richards was born on November 15, 1946 in Coffee County and lived the early years of his life there. He resided in Pinckard before moving to Ozark in 1985. He was employed with Flowers Hospital for 8 years before his medical retirement in 2008. Mr. Richards returned to Enterprise in 2006.Survivors include his wife of nearly 30 years, Sylvia “Sissy” Park Richards, Enterprise; his 3 sons, Brandon Richards, Enterprise, Danny Richards, New Brockton, and Shawn Brandy Richards, New Brockton; his 3 grandchildren, Dana Richards, Brianna Richards, and Taylor Richards; his 4 half brothers, James H.“Sonny” Bobbie Nolin, Douglas Doris Nolin, Brandon Richards, and Noble Tiny Richards; his 3 sisters, Betty Sue Stringfellow and her fiancé Ralph Marler, Ellawayne Jimmy Danford, and Barbara Clarkson; a half sister, Francis Raymond Welch; his faithful family pets, Betsy and Tiger; several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends also survive. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
