Dixie Warren

Dixie Warren, 67, a resident of Dothan passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bruce Jenne officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wiregrass Spay and Neuter Alliance, 570 S. Foster St., Dothan, AL, 36301.

Dixie was born January 23, 1949 in Jesup, GA and spent the early part of her life there. She graduated from Wayne County High School and attended Valdosta State University. She moved to Dothan in the early 1970’s where she was a homemaker and was also employed with Blumberg’s Department Store for several years. She later worked with her husband in the family business, Moore-Warren Equipment Company. Dixie had a creative soul and was a skilled painter, floral designer, and music lover.

Survivors include her husband James Warren; her in-laws, O.D. and Bobbie Warren; her son Shaylor Jennifer Warren; her daughter, Leigh Guy Josh Lawrence; her grandchildren, Luke Lawrence, Lexi Lawrence, Crist, Lauren, and Jonathan; her sister, Elizabeth Robert Read; her brothers, John Jones and Buddy Jones; her brother-in-law, Rob Donna Warren; her niece, Robin Read.
