Don Gibson was born February 18, 1932 in Salem, Ohio. He was a traveling school boy, since his family moved often and he ended up with degrees from the University of North Texas, Texas A&M, and a doctorate from the University of Memphis. His career covered two areas. Don spent 27 years in the United States Air Force as a pilot and a meteorologist. He said, “it was the most enjoyable and rewarding career one could have!” Donald followed that with 27 years as a college professor. He always felt that he was lucky to have two careers that made you anxious to go to work each day. He felt fortunate in family life and enjoyed 65 years together with his wonderful wife and companion, Beverly. Don will be missed by his family and friends.
