Don Calvin Skipper

Don Calvin “Skip” Skipper, 60, was born July 19, 1953 in Dale County, AL. He was called home on Saturday, December 7, 2013. To know Skip was to love him. He was an incredible man whom will truly be missed by all.

Services will be held 11 am Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. R.O. Smith and Rev. Paula Bond officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Calvin was a devoted husband, father and Paw-Paw. He was an aircraft mechanic for over 40 years where he made many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Alvin Skipper; a brother Lewis "Alvin" Skipper, Jr.; a brother-in-law Charles Poland; a sister-in-law Shauna Maxwell.

Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Stacy Bond Skipper; his beautiful daughter Tabitha Steven Brannon and their children Carson and Katie; his loving son Jonathan Hope Skipper and their daughter Faith; his mother Fronia Skipper of Bonifay, FL; his loving siblings, Janice Poland, Melvin Lavern Skipper, and Marvin Donna Skipper; loving brothers and sisters-in-law, Karen Skipper, Melody Tim Johnson, Krystal Dennis Cosby, Craig Paula Bond, and Bruce Bond; many nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Dixon, Mark Sasser, Blaine Stelly, Mike Strickland, Jerry Tharpe, and Bill Shorter.
