Donald C. Booth

April 16, 1943 — December 9, 2024

Donald C. Booth, known affectionately to family and friends as Don, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024, after an extended illness. Born in Panama City, Florida, on April 16, 1943, Don's life journey of 81 years came to a gentle close in Dothan, Alabama, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family.

Don's life was marked by unwavering commitment and love for his family. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Janet Booth, with whom he built a life rich in shared experiences and mutual support. His legacy continues through his daughters, Tami Morris (Horace Lisenby) and Shay Morris; his grandchildren, Caleb Morris and Morgan (Kaleb) Knight; and his great-granddaughter, Maggie Beth Knight. Don was also a guiding presence in the lives of his daughters, Donna Watson and Michael Booth, his brother, Grady Booth and his mother, Collene Booth. He was predeceased by his father, and his son, Scott Morris, whose memories remain a cherished part of the family's history.

Don's professional life was characterized by dedication and service. He proudly served in the National Guard for 25 years, demonstrating his commitment to his country and community. Don worked at the Farley Nuclear Plant for 30 years. His colleagues will remember him not just for his work ethic, but also for his love of computers, which was both a vocation and a hobby.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Don was a man of many interests. His hands were rarely still, as he loved to quilt, engage in woodworking, and build a Model A car from the ground up. His love for tinkering with things was well-known, and he could often be found in his workshop, immersed in a new project. Camping was another joy of Don's life, providing him with opportunities to connect with nature and spend quality time with his family. A simple pleasure he cherished was enjoying a Blizzard from Dairy Queen, a treat he'd indulge in whenever possible.

Don was an active member of Southside Baptist Church, where he found fellowship and spiritual nourishment. His faith was an integral part of his life, guiding his actions and interactions with others.

Friends and family knew Don as a man who was not just handy but also friendly and loving. He had a knack for making those around him feel at ease, and his warm demeanor won him many lifelong friendships. His ability to fix or build almost anything was matched only by his capacity to offer a kind word or a helping hand.

A private graveside service for family only to honor and celebrate the life of Donald C. Booth will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Park. Craig Sinquefield will be officiating, sharing words of comfort and remembrance with his family who gather to bid Don farewell.

As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the full and meaningful life that Don led. His memory will live on in the hearts and stories of his family, his friends, and all the lives he touched. Don's spirit, characterized by his handiness, friendliness, and loving nature, will continue to inspire those who knew him well.
