Donnell Barnes, 85, of Dothan died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011 at Wesley Manor.

Services will be 1pm on Monday, Jan. 31 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Thaxton Whiddon officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory with Robert Byrd directing.Mr. Barnes was born Dec. 18, 1925 in Dothan, AL and spent his entire life in the Dothan area. He was retired from the Dothan Cigar Factory and a member of Southside Baptist Church. Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his parents Jasper and Annie Mae Mathews Barnes, and his brothers Mather Barnes, Bobby and Gloria Jane Barnes, Ray Barnes, Rothell and Mary Barnes, and Dr. Radford Barnes.Survivors include his wife Mary Kathryn “Kitty” Strickland Barnes of Dothan; a brother and sister-in-law Bill and Nina Strickland of Birmingham; sisters-in-law, Mildred Barnes of Dothan and Julia Barnes of Dothan; several nieces and nephews. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
