Dora Margarette (Wheeler) Little

October 10, 1935 — July 8, 2022

Slocomb

On Thursday, July 8, 2022, our beloved Dora Margarette Little, devoted wife, mother, Christian and so much more, passed away at the age of 86. Dora was born in Lowndes County, Mississippi on October 10, 1935 to William Roy and Annie Logan Wheeler. On August 10, 1956 she married Joseph Eugene Little. They raised one son, Wade and two daughters, Susan and Donna.

Dora was a devoted servant of the Lord and had a great love for her church family. She was a faithful member of the Panama City Beach Church of Christ for 56 years. She spent her days serving others by visiting the sick, helping her neighbors, caring for friends in the nursing home, taking food to those who needed it, teaching others about the Lord and caring for her family at home. Dora was very resourceful, having gone through many hard times and having been raised on a farm as the youngest sibling in a family of eight children. She loved preparing meals for family and friends and could make even the most modest meals stretch. Dora enjoyed doing crafts, putting together flower arrangements and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to share the latest funny column jokes and gave the best (and tightest) bear-hugs around.

Dora was preceded in death by her father, William Roy Wheeler; her mother, Annie Logan Wheeler; her 4 brothers; and her one sister.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Joseph Eugene Little; her three children, Arthur Wade Little, Brenda Susan Huggins and Donna Jean King; her two sisters; her nine grandchildren, Johnny Little, Summer Little, Jennifer (Craig) Hamilton, Katie (Gary) Kerr, Jake (April) Huggins, Abby (Micah) Legg, Karla (John) Griggs, Steven King and Matthew (Maria) King; 22 great-grandchildren; and even one great great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 2:00 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel at 1700 Barrington Road Midland City, Alabama 36350. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be sent to Alzheimer' Association at https://www.alz.org/al.

Serving
as honorary pallbearers will be Brendan Burris, Karter Burris, Aiden King, Cooper Kerr, Sam Kerr, Jude Huggins, Ben Huggins and Oliver Legg.

The family wishes to thank Southern Care Hospice of Geneva for their excellent care and compassion.
