Doris Denton

Doris Denton, 69, a resident of Dothan passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 at her residence.

Graveside services will be 1 pm Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Denton was born November 18, 1944 in Giessen, West Germany and lived there the early part of her life. She married Sam Denton in June 29, 1962 and moved to the United States in 1963. She returned to Germany many times during her husband’s military career. She was a homemaker and she loved bowling and playing the slot machines.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years Sam Denton; her son Michael Earl Denton; a grandson Alex Taylor Denton; a brother Walter Monroe; her first cousin Giesla Mearns; several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
