Doris Edwards

Doris Edwards, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at a local hospital. She was 93.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 10 am in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Military Honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.

Mrs. Edwards was born on April 5, 1924 in Waycross, Georgia and lived her early years in Jacksonville, Florida. She joined the U.S. Navy and was active duty for several years until she married Albert Dow Edwards. Doris resided in Hialeah, Florida for most of her life before moving to Dothan in 2012. While living in Florida, she was involved in the Optimist Club, the Garden Society and a bowling league. She enjoyed macramé and loved spending time at the beach.

Survivors include her son, Terry (Robbie) Edwards; her grandsons, Larry Edwards, John Edwards and Thompson Edwards; five greatgrandchildren; and 2 great-greatgrandchildren.
