Dorothy Hutto “Dot” Jordan, 75, of Newton died Monday, Feb. 7, 2011.

Services will be held 11 am Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011 at Newton Baptist Church with Rev. Benji Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Newton City Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.Mrs. Jordan was born Sept. 30, 1935 in Defuniak Springs, FL, to the late Alfred and Inez Brown. She resided in Portland, FL the early part of her life and has resided in Newton for the past 44 years. She was retired from Hayes/Pemco after 34 years of service. She was an avid softball coach and umpire in Newton and played with the Dothan DOT softball team. Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by her husband John Hutto, infant daughter Lenora Hutto, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.Survivors include her husband Tommie “TJ” Jordan; daughters, Debbie Myron Whitman and Michele Jeffy Willis; a son Jeff Natalie Hutto; sisters, Grace Suggs and Wynell Bishop; a brother Buddy Brown; 7 grandchildren, Neshia Kevin Chaney, Jamie Whitman, Damon Willis, Shane Kristen Whitman, John Hutto, Lauren Hutto, and Jake Hutto; 3 great-grandchildren, Sara Beth and Cole Chaney, and Shayleigh Whitman; stepchildren, Jeff Melissa Jordan and Christy Avant; step grandchildren, Leighann, Matthew and Thomas. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
