Eddie Lamar Afford

Eddie Lamar Afford, a resident of Dothan, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 28, 2023. He was 67 years old.

A celebration of life service will be held 1 pm on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.

Eddie was born on November 18, 1955, in Dothan, Alabama where he was a member of Patterson Street Freewill Baptist Church. He moved to Syracuse, NY as a teenager and lived there from 1971-2000. He returned to Dothan with his mother in 2000.

Eddie was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, LB and Mary Lee Jackson, paternal grandparents, Roosevelt and Willie Afford. His Uncles, Odell (Buddy) Afford and L.C. Jackson. Aunts: Arie Lee Hawkins, Daisy Lee Jenkins, Ethel Lee Jackson and Willie Jean Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Sally A. Afford, Dothan, AL; father, James Edward (Clara) Afford, Jacksonville, FL. His daughter, Elizabeth Afford, grandchildren, Tianna Nellons, Tywann Nellons, and Taliyah Afford, great grandchildren, Keion Koroma and Ma'niyah Nellons all of Syracuse, NY. A very special brother, Clifford (Lou) Rich of Dothan. Sister, Stephanie (Ashton) Murphy of Nashville, TN. An aunt, Aletha King Jackson, an uncle, Leroy Afford and a host of cousins and friends.
