Edis Lamar Culver

Edis Lamar “Joe” Culver, of Dothan went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 7, 2009. He was 42.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, July 11, 2009 in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Grimes officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Friday.Mr. Edis Lamar “Joe” Culver, the son of Inez Culver and Bennice Culver, was born on December 8, 1966 in Henry County, Alabama. He was affectionately known by his family and friends as “Joe”. Joe graduated from Abbeville High School in 1985. He had a warm smile that touched everyone’s heart. He was employed with Sunnyland Packing Company in Thomasville, GA and then as a mechanic until his recent illness and retirement. Joe accepted Christ at an early age and attended Grandview Baptist Church. Joe leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted mother, Inez Culver, Dothan, AL, and his father, Bennice Culver, Dothan, AL; two sisters, Maleeka Culver, Dothan, AL, and Cassandra Smith, Abbeville, AL; one brother, Vince Culver, Dothan, AL; special nephews that he adored, Antoine, Cornell, and Keon; special friends, Damon Crunk and Dwayne Walker; special cousins, Katerina Reynolds and Willie Culver; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends also survive. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
