Edith May Wright

Edith May Wright, 88, a resident of Avon, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at her son’s home in Avon. She left the bonds of this life and joined the choir of eternal angels in an era of this life.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2009 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with the Rev. Talmadge Butler officiating and Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Park.Mrs. Wright was born on March 30, 1920 in Indiahoma, Oklahoma and became a soldier’s wife, traveling around the United States for several years prior to moving to the Dothan area in 1960.Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her parents Mart R. Sargent and Ollie May Moore Sargent; 1 grandson; 1 great granddaughter and 1 great grandson.Survivors include her husband Retired Master Sergeant Chester Olander Wright of Avon; 4 children, Jenny Osborn of Ainsworth, NE, Dale Vanover Gerald of Oklahoma City, OK, Jim Wright Carolyn of Avon, AL, Marion Wright Lonnie Hawkins of Oklahoma City, OK; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 22 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ruth Patrick of Lawton, OK, Aline Browning of Alamogordo, NM; several nieces and nephews. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
