Edward Charles Kneller

Edward Charles Kneller, 81, a resident of Gordon, AL passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at a local hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at St. Columba Catholic Church with Father Patrick Gallagher officiating. Military Honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2015 with a prayer service occurring at 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Kneller was born July 10, 1934 in Hellertown, PA and lived the early part of his life there. He joined the U.S. Navy and served for over 20 years spending tours in both the Vietnam War and the Korean War. Following his military service, he worked with the Boy Scouts of America as a District Executive for 20 years until his retirement in 1994. He resided in the Keys prior to moving to the Pansey area where he has lived for the past several years. He was an avid fisherman, wood craftsman, and loved helping Habitat for Humanity. He was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion.

Mr. Kneller was preceded in death by his daughter Darla Kneller-Dean.

Survivors include his wife Bettye Kneller; daughters, Donna Joe Nowling and Mary Richardson; grandchildren, Meghan Dwayne Brock, Ashley Cory Pickard, Jared Dean, Sean Richardson, Matthew Richardson, and Harlan Richardson; great-grandchildren, Harley Pickard, Baylee Brock, Avery Pickard, and Ariel Richardson; a brother, Charles Sue Kneller; sisters, Rita Macik and Kathy Bob Krafty; several nieces and nephews.
