Eleanor Kaye Carney

Eleanor Kaye Carney, a resident of Dothan passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Flowers Hospital. She was 66.

Funeral services will be held at a later date in Wilmington, NC.Mrs. Carney was born on August 9, 1943 in Xenia, OH to Wilbert Lee Ruse and Eleanora Truvy Ruse and spent the early years of her life there. She moved to Pinellas Park, FL in her teens where she met Paul Carney with whom she later eloped with in Nahunta, GA on June 27, 1961. Paul was in the U.S. Navy and they moved to several cities on the East Coast and Morocco prior to his military retirement. They moved to Dothan in 1983 where Kaye was a homemaker and enjoyed bowling, cake decorating, crafts, and her dog “Mac” and cat “Sprout.” Kaye especially loved travelling with Paul and went to Atlanta Braves games often.Survivors include her husband of 49 years Paul Carney of Dothan; her mother Eleanora Turvy Ruse of Wilmington, NC; a sister Celia Ferrier of Wilmington, NC; nieces, Lisa Russell and her husband Shane of Vacaville, CA and Laura Kuzma of Wilmington, NC. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
