Elfriede Beilstein Clark

July 28, 1926 — November 29, 2014

Mrs. Elfriede Hedwig Beilstein Clark of Dothan, age 88, died at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends on Saturday, November 29, 2014.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Park Chapel with Reverend Donald Clark and Chaplain Tim Stevenson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Clark Cemetery with Sunset Memorial directing. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Covenant Hospice, 104 Rock Bridge Road, Dothan, AL  36303.

Mrs. Clark was born on July 28, 1926 in Bogel, Germany and she met and married her husband Adus Clark in Darmstadt, Germany. She came to the United States in 1956.  Mrs. Clark was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Taylor. Mrs. Clark loved sharing her pictures and amazing stories of the history of her homeland with friends, family members and many students. Mrs. Clark was well known for her genealogy research on the Clark family, and she enjoyed meeting people and sharing this information. She and her husband, Adus enjoyed fishing and were known in the community for their great stories of the one that got away. She will always be remembered as a loving wife and Mother, the best Grandmother, and most importantly she will always be remembered for her wonderful storytelling and kind spirit.

Mrs. Clark was predeceased by her husband, Adus Clark, a son, Joe Clark, her parents Johanna and Alfred Riegel of Darmstadt, Germany and a brother, Heinz Riegel of Nieder-Ramstadt, Germany.

Survivors include her daughter, Patty Clark Pynes, Dothan; her grandchildren, Chris Toni Clark, Shreveport, LA, Anna Bob O’Connell, South China, ME, Sarah Grant Guyuron, Cleveland, OH, Mary Kathryn Pynes, New York, NY; Great- grandchildren, Torin O’Connell, Ryley O’Connell, Christopher Clark, Joseph Clark, Jordan Clark, Joseph Guyuron, Emma Clark O’Connell; a brother, Gunter Lieselotte Riegel, Wiesbaden, Germany;  and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Covenant Hospice Staff, Cynthia Longgrear, RN, Lisa Mahan, HA, Kim Enfinger, RN, Carla Sammons, LPN, Sara McKee, MSW, Tim Stevenson, Chaplain, Tawanna Young, CRNP, Dr. Melanie Nicholls, and all those that loved and cared for Mrs. Clark during her illness.
