Elizabeth Davis, a resident of Midland City, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 at a local hospital. She was 87. In consideration of community health and public safety due to the COVID 19 Virus, funeral services for family and close friends will be held in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred McClain officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Mrs. Davis was born on September 15, 1932 in Houston County, lived in Brooklyn, New York the early years of her life and moved to Dothan in 1979. She was employed with Flowers Hospital and Wesley Manor until her retirement in 1989. Mrs. Davis an inspiration to everyone she met and was a true teacher of the Word of God. She was always there for an encouraging word and for keeping us all on our toes. Her quick wit and her love will truly be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Davis was a member of Antioch Pentecostal Church in New York and Total Restoration Church in Dothan, Alabama. Mrs. Davis leaves to cherish her memories her son, Heyward Davis; her 6 grandchildren, Amanda Davis, Ampara Altom, Jaqueline Bascomb, Jessica Mitchell, David Black, and Akima Bastiste; her 8 great-grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. In consideration of community health and public safety due to the COVID 19 Virus, funeral services for family and close friends will be held in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred McClain officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
