Ellen Carey Jones

Ellen Jones, 65, of Ashford went home to be with her Lord Sunday, April 17, 2011 at her residence.

rnMemorial services will be held 3pm Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Evergreen Presbyterian Church with Rev. Joe Johnson and Rev. Sandy Lacey officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Humane Association, 1400 16th Street NW, Suite 360, Washington, DC, 20036, or to the Ashford Rescue Squad, 521 Broadway Ave., Ashford, AL, 36312. rnMs. Jones was born March 30, 1946 in Bristol, VA and moved to Dothan at an early age. She resided in Dothan until 1989 when she relocated to Ashford and lived there for the past 22 years. She was employed with Dothan Animal Hospital for the past several years as a pet groomer until her recent retirement in March 2011. Ms. Jones was a member of the Afghan Hounds Breeders Association and the Evergreen Presbyterian Church. rnSurvivors include her son Ross R. Jones Desiree of Enterprise; her daughter Joy Vann Chip of Dothan; grandchildren, Aaron Jones, Jonathon Stevens, Gavin Dowling, Jessie Jones, Brett Vann and Avery Ellen Vann; her sister Carol J. Stembridge Dr. James Damon of Midland City; cousins, Toni Stone and Lisa Spruhan both of Harrisburg, VA; an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hinck of Harrisburg, VA. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
