Elmore “Vince” Giles Vincent Jr.

April 17, 1939 — January 20, 2021

Elmore "Vince" Giles Vincent Jr., a resident of Dothan, passed away on January 20, 2021. He was 81 years old.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with military honors. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory with Sunset Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Vince was born in Connecticut on April 17, 1939 to the late Evelyn and Elmore G. Vincent, Sr. Following high school graduation, he enlisted and served as a military police member for 21 years in the U.S. Air Force before retiring. During Vince's time in the Air Force, he was a marksman shooter and appreciated the time spent in the competitive marksmanship program competing for the Air Force Security Forces. He is a veteran of two foreign wars, he served two tours in Vietnam and one tour in Korea. After his service, he was employed with Farley Nuclear Plant where he worked as a security officer before retiring. He enjoyed participating in several bowling leagues, and earned numerous trophies. Vince was a hardworking and devoted family man. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Vince was preceded in death by his parents; and two of his four sisters, Judie Oslund Fontaine, and Nancy Vincent Fella.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Jeannette Mae Morin Vincent; two of his sisters, Charlotte Calson Haman, and Donna Vincent Gendron; his two daughters Susan Vincent Alphord and Karen Vincent Bush; his three grandchildren, Ryan Patrick Alphord, Joshua Trent Bush, and Nicholas Aaron Bush; and his great-grandchild, Madalyn Isabelle Alphord.
