Ervin McLean, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at a local hospital. He was 84. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Lee officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm. Mr. McLean was born on September 10, 1934 in Elkin, West Virginia and resided in Burlington, West Virginia the early years of his life. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. McLean was employed with General Motors Corporation for over 30 years prior to his retirement. He resided in Waterford, Michigan before moving to Dothan in 1998. Mr. McLean enjoyed fishing and tinkering with things that needed repairs. In his spare time, he loved to play his guitar for his family and friends. Mr. McLean was preceded in death by his 2 daughters, Susan Marie McLean and Annette Ann McLean. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy McLean; his son, Rick (Shawnna) McLean; his 2 step-daughters, Debra (Larry) Pope and JoAnn Henson; his step-son, Carl P. (Brenda Sue) Henson, III; his 4 grandchildren; his 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dennis McLean; his 2 sisters, Nina Chenoweth and Maple Yeager; and several nieces and nephews, including Roger McLean. Burial Date October 24, 2018 Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Lee officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm.
