Essie Loray Floyd

Loray Floyd, age 72 of Ashford passed away Thursday July 31, 2014 at her residence.

Funeral services will be 11am Monday, August 4, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Creamer. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Holiness Church Cemetery in Pansey, AL. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Floyd was born August 11, 1941 in Houston County and lived in the Pansey area most of her life. She was a homemaker and was of the Holiness Faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hill and Essie Lewis; 2 sisters and 4 brothers; grandchildren, Michelle Swords, Shannon Swords, and D.J. Brown.

Survivors include her husband C.L. Floyd; sister Sophie Rodgers; children, Robert Brown, Peggy Lee Scott, Danny Martie Brown, Billy Betty Brown, Junior Ladon Joe Cook, and Ronnie Cindy Floyd; grandchildren, Shenna Keith Watson, Steve Brown, David Duke, Jessica Jake Peters Brown, Shawna Matt Guess, Krystal Brian Tyson Brown, Billy Jo Brown, Dylan Chelsi Brown, and Sean Brown; 5 step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Brian Watson, Azleia Watson, Kaitlyn Brown, Kayleigh Brown, Bradley Guess, and Karleigh Brown and 13 step-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Donzell Floyd, Robert Floyd, Donny Floyd, Tyler Floyd, Blake Floyd, Nicklos McLendon and Dylan Brown.
