Evelyn Watkins Watford

Evelyn Watkins Watford, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at her residence. She was 81.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 11 am at Mt. Enon Baptist Church with Rev. Matthew Brown and Rev. Jerry Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 10-11 am on the day of the service.

Mrs. Watkins was born in Houston County on December 7, 1935 and lived in Dothan all her life. She owned and operated her child day care center from 1983-1997. Evelyn loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Mt. Enon Baptist Church.

Mrs. Watford was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Eugene Watford; a son, William Marlon Watford; and siblings, Robert Watkins, Vermel Carter and Dorothy Watford.

Survivors include her children, Charles Lamar (Deanna) Watford, Jason Scott (Starla) Watford, Brenda Watford (Randall Wayne) Brown and Rebecca Watford (Dwayne) Watkins; her grandchildren, Matthew Randall Brown, Joshua Wayne Brown, Jacob Tanner Watford, Zachery Charles Watkins, Anna-Marie Watkins, Dylan Charles Watford and Blake Scott Watford; her great-grandchild, Judson Matthew Brown; her siblings, Bobby Lee Watkins, James Marlon Watkins, William Grady Watkins, Shirley Watkins Moss and Mary Watkins Bruce; and several nieces and nephews.
