Ezell “Diddy” Robinson, Sr. 83, of Louisville, passed away June 17, 2014 at Flowers Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Friday, June 20, 2014 at St. Peters Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 pm until 2 pm Friday.
Mr. Robinson was born August 12, 1930 in Texasville, Alabama to the late Fate and Elizabeth McCray, and lived the early years of his life there. He resided most of his life in Louisville, Alabama and he was employed with Madison Construction as a brick mason for over 20 years until his retirement in 1994. He was an avid fisherman and was happiest with a fishing pole in his hand. He attended Rose Hill Senior Center where he enjoyed playing pool with his friends. Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his wife Annie R. Robinson, a daughter Edna P. Robinson, 7 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Survivors include his sons, Eddie Marie Robinson, Rochester, NY, and Ezell Gloria Robinson, Jr., Clio, AL; his daughters, Brenda Robinson, Bobbie Robinson, and Zanalesica Robinson all of Dothan, AL; a granddaughter Catrina M. Copeland Vidal and Soleil; a brother James Nettie McCray, Clio, AL; sisters, Ollie M. Williams, Clio, AL, Ruthie Jerome Pride, Clio, AL, and Rebecca Tommy Fry-Grubbs, Clio, AL; sisters-in-law, Annie P. Davis, Columbus, GA, and Regina Arts, Atlanta, GA; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
