Frances Hyde

Edith Frances Hyde, 80, of Dothan, passed away November 5, 2014 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Ansley Whatley officiating.  Burial will follow in Black Community Cemetery with Robert Byrd of Sunset Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1pm until 2pm Sunday. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Ricky Perez Memorial Fund, C/O Hometown Bank 2002 2nd Avenue East, Oneonta, AL, 35121.

Mrs. Hyde was born December 25, 1933 in Black, Alabama and she was a 1952 Valedictorian graduate of Geneva High School. Mrs. Hyde was employed with Civil Service at Fort Rucker as a Human Resource Specialist for 39 years and retired as a GS-13 in 1991. She was an avid gardener and loved growing flowers. Mrs. Hyde was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Hyde, a grandchild, Joshua Stephens, a son-in-law, Phillip Stephens, a grandson-in-law, Ricky Perez, a step-son, John Hyde. She was a member of Westgate Church of Christ.

Survivors include her daughters, Shree Justo, Lisa Bedsole and Debbie Stephens; her step daughter, Sheila Goodwin; her step-sons, Steve Hyde and Mike Hyde; her grandchildren, Samantha Perez, Joseph Justo, Jr., Jodi Stephens, Hayden Bedsole and Madilyn Bedsole; her great-grandchildren, Jared Perez and John David Perez; and a special caretaker, Patti Todd.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Mike Bedsole, Hayden Bedsole, Joey Juston, Kevin Bradley, Marty Grice and Eddie Hudspeth.

Burial Date: January 1, 1970
