Frances Wydra, a resident of a Slocomb, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Flowers Hospital. She was 70.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Slocomb Community Church on Jackson Street, Slocomb, Alabama.Mrs. Wydra was born January 19, 1939, in New York, and resided there until 1989. She employed with civil service in New York City for over thirty-two years prior to her retirement in 1989. Mrs. Wydra later moved to York County, Pennsylvania where she opened a craft shop called Black Pearl. In 1995 she moved to Avon Park, Florida and opened Ceramic Plus “More than Just Clay Shop”. Mrs. Wydra has resided in Slocomb for the past three years. She was a member of Slocomb Community Church and loved to teach and work with children.Survivors include her daughters, Greta Stark of Bonifay, FL, Florence Wydra-Gat of Philadelphia, PA; a step-daughter Joanne Blando of Brooklyn, NY; 5 grandchildren, Adrienne Blando, Anthony Blando, Laura Frances Blando, Rachel Gat, and Hannah Frances Gat.
