Fred Darrell Kilcrease Sr., a resident of Midland City passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his family following a brief illness. He was 62.

rnFuneral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on States St. with James Glover officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Monday at the funeral home.

rnFred Darrell was born on October 31, 1947 and grew up in Columbia. He worked with Nix Grocery, Slocomb Oil Company, and Home Oil Company. He served his country in the Vietnam War after graduating from Houston County High School. Fred Darrell loved his family and took pride in each and every one of them. His granddaughters, who called him Paw-Paw, were his pride and joy and the sound of their voices brought a big grin to his face even in his last days.

rnDarrell was preceded in death by his mother Marjorie Christensen, his stepfather Homer Christensen, and his grandparents Perry and Evie Williams.

rnFred Darrell is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Rosemarie Lois Peters Kilcrease Marie; his sons, Fred Kilcrease, Jr. Mary, Perry Kilcrease, Leslie, David Kilcrease; his daughter Debra Kilcrease; his granddaughters, Deanna, Alexis, Camara, Summer; his sisters, Marilyn Strickland, Yvonne McCall, Peggy Christensen, Carolyn Christensen; his brother, Michael Christensen; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles also survive.
