Gaines Neal Pickett, of Dothan AL, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mirion and M.D. Albright. He is survived by his longtime friend and caregiver, Donna Glover.

Mr. Picket was often said to be the man who gets things done. And that he did from the beginning at Dothan High School where he was proud to be Drum Major and be involved in numerous activities. His high school year book says it all: “A friend to everybody, always cheerful and wearing a smile.” He carried that enthusiasm for life to Florida State where he came to love politics graduating there with a major in Political Science. After graduation he worked closely with the Georgia Democratic Party and also as a partner in Olde Community Properties in Atlanta, GA. After working there for many years he moved to Panama City, FL where he was in the real estate business. He moved back to Dothan which had been his childhood home and lived here until he was called Home.
