Gary Wayne Skinner

August 11, 1955 — October 18, 2015

Gary Wayne Skinner, 60, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 2:00p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Gant officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30p.m. – 2:00p.m. Wednesday.

Gary was born August 11, 1955 in Houston County and resided in Rehobeth the early years of his life. He was a 1973 graduate of Rehobeth High School and attended Wallace College. Gary was a hairdresser for 35 years and he owned and operated Bangs Salon for  several years prior to his retirement. He loved being outdoors where he enjoyed hunting and golfing. Gary was an avid supporter of the Alabama football team. He was member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents James Skinner and Donnetta Hamrick. The family would like to express their thanks to Murphy Jones and Covenant Hospice for the special care given to Gary during his recent illness.

Survivors include his wife Lisa Skinner; a son Seth Skinner; a daughter Ally Skinner; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Billy and Gayle Spann; a brother-in-law Joe Spann; sisters, Gale Steve Ory and Renee Daniels; a special aunt and uncle, Linda and Ricky Bishop; several nieces and nephews including his favorite nephew Hunter Spann, Savannah Spann, Stephanie McKnight, Lori Cooper, Arianne Crowfoot, and Matthew Ory.

Pallbearers will be Charles Hanners, Michael Williford, Berry Coleman, Jim Martin, Ammon Goode, and Steve Dooling.

Burial Date: January 1, 1970
