Gene Autry Ferrell, 68, of Midland City died Dec. 30, 2010 at Oakview Manor.

Services will be 1 pm Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Larry Hutcherson officiating. Burial will follow in Greater Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Byrd officiating. The Family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.Mr. Ferrell was born Jan. 27, 1942 in Greenville, AL and moved to Andalusia at an early age. He was employed with Faulkner Construction Company for 30 years until his medical retirement in 2000. Mr. Ferrell was President of the Midland City Lions Club where he was known for cooking for fund raisers as the Boston Butt King.Survivors include his wife Annie Ferrell of Midland City; sons, James Hill Ferrell Ingrid of Dothan, Ardy Ferrell Alicia of Midland City, Shanon Ferrell Karen of Newton, and Eric Ferrell Tammy of Connecticut; daughters, Fannie Streeter Kervin of Montgomery, Debbie Coon Dewaye of Opp, and Amelia Ferrell of Headland; 24 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, John Wayne Ferrell of Andalusia, George Ferrell of Andalusia, and Bobby Ferrell of Andalusia; sisters, Katheryn of Huntsville, Betty of Andalusia, and Oscar Mae of Andalusia; a host of nieces and nephews also survive. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
