George D. Broyles

Rev. George Donald Broyles, Jr. “Butch” went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at his home in Headland, AL. He was 44 years of age.

rnFuneral services will be 10 am Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Lavon Singleton and Rev. Danny Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the funeral home. rnRev. Broyles was born on October 11, 1966 in Dothan, AL to George Donald Broyles and Betty Jo Williams Broyles. He was the Assistant Pastor at Rocky Branch Congregational Holiness Church. He was also the South Alabama Christian Education director. He served our community as a police officer for 17 years. He began his career with Midland City PD as a reserve officer and dispatcher and became an officer with Headland PD, and retired from Slocomb PD. He was preceded in death by his mother, his brother Michael David Mathis “Booney” and several other family members and friends. rnHis survivors include his wife, Dale Marie Yon Broyles of 26 years; a son, Jonathan Broyles and wife Wendy; two daughters, Candace Broyles Garren and husband Christopher and Carley Jo Broyles; two grandchildren, Emma Grace Broyles and Landon Garren; father, George Donald Broyles and wife Rachel; siblings, Tim Mathis, Alisa Rowland and husband Greg, Kaye Noland and husband Kevin, Dutchess Ann Weiner and Drew Broyles; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. rnRev. Broyles will be remembered for the love he poured in sharing Christ with the young and old; and the legacy of faith he demonstrated in his life. Well done my faithful servant, Welcome Home, is his reward. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
