George Gohde

George Gohde, a resident of Dothan passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Flowers Hospital. He was 91.rnMemorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity with Rev. Ede Plovanich officiating and Robert Byrd directing. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to your favorite animal shelter.rnMr. Gohde was born on January 17, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY and lived the early years of his life in Dumont, NJ and spent most of his life in Oakland, NJ. He moved to Dothan in 1998 and was employed as an electrician for several years prior to his retirement. While in Dothan he volunteered with RSVP, Flowers Hospital, and the Food Bank. He was a Mason and a lifetime member of the American Legion.rnSurvivors include his wife Dorothy Gohde of Dothan; a daughter Galen Gohde of Dothan; a son Rick Gohde of Midland City; grandchildren, Chantelle Gohde and Ryon Gohde both of Midland City; great-grandchildren, Devin and Aden; a brother Fred Gohde and his wife Norma of Cedar Knolls, NJ; a sister Marian Beesley and her husband George of Tucson, AZ; several nieces and nephews also survive.rn
