George Randle Rogers

George Rogers of Dothan, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 14, 2022.

In his 79 years, he lived a full life, energized by his passion of music and surrounded by his loving wife, family and many faithful friends. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and a dedicated Alabama fan. He was a prolific songwriter, penning songs for Shenandoah and Bertie Higgins.

George was born October 8, 1942 to Charles and Lera Mae Rogers (Sr.). He attended Dothan High School and graduated in 1961. After graduating he enrolled at Troy State University and studied Business Administration.

George is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved brother Charles Rogers, Jr.

Leaving to cherish his memory include: His adoring wife of 32 years, Margaret Rich; sister Betty Rogers Miller, stepdaughter, Michelle Brownlee (Will), stepson, Mike Kachman (Lynda), granddaughters, Emma Brownlee, Brittany Thomason, Kimberly Kachman, Lindsay Kachman and niece Dana Bell Boswell, also including
extended family members and friends.

A memorial service with held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Harvest Church with Pastor Larry Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
