Gerald Jerry Thomas Risher, Sr.

Gerald “Jerry” Thomas Risher, Sr., a resident of Dothan, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at his residence. He was 81.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in the Sunset Memorial Park Pavilion with Robert Byrd directing.

Mr. Risher was born on June 6, 1936 in Wadmalaw Island, SC and lived there the early years of his life. He graduated from St. John High School in Charleston, SC and joined the US Air Force, serving for 20 years before his retirement. Mr. Risher has resided in Dothan for the past 18 years. He enjoyed fishing, shrimping and Alabama Football.

Mr. Risher was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Risher, Sr. and by his sister, Ida Lewis.

Survivors include his wife, Patti Risher; his 5 sons, David Wallace, Greg Risher, Jerry Risher, Jr., Randall Risher, and Ronald Risher, Jr.; his great-grandchild, Brantley Poyner; his brother, Leonidas Risher, Sr.; his sister, Evelyn Caddin; and several nieces and nephews.
