Gladys Clark Anderson, a resident of Dothan died Monday November 23, 2009 at Wesley Manor. She was 82.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Sunset Chapel with Rev. Ricky Plummer officiating. Graveside services will follow in Mt. Enon Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 Tuesday. At other times they will be at 148 Crawford Creek Drive, Dothan, Alabama 36303. Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice, 2855 Ross Clark Circle, Suite 110, Dothan, Alabama, 36301.Mrs. Anderson was born September 22, 1927 in Campbellton, Florida and resided the early years of her life in Madrid. She later moved to Columbus, Georgia and was employed with Fieldcrest Mills for twenty years. Mrs. Anderson returned to Dothan in 1969 and was employed with J.C. Penney for over twenty years. She spent her entire life dedicated to her family and her hobbies included sewing and growing and arranging flowers at Somerset Assisted Living for all of the residents to enjoy. Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband, James Oram Anderson; her parents, Alpha and Goldie Clark; two brothers, Arlen Clark and Quinton Clark; a great granddaughter, Ivie Smith.Survivors include her daughters, Jean Jones and her husband, Tim, Dothan, Joyce Efurd and her husband, Dennis, Cottonwood, Dianne Dailey and her husband, Bobby, Dothan, Carol Smith, Dothan; grandchildren, Cindy Robinson, Jamie Jones, Denise Whitfield and her husband, Wes, Kelli Hunt, Todd Dailey and his wife, Anna, Jason Dailey and his wife, Teal, Jeffrey Smith, Justin Smith; great-grandchildren, Chris and Colby Robinson, Alexis and Jordyn Jones, Caroline and Grayson Crowley, Payne and Wesleigh Jane Whitfield, Drew and Whit Woods, Ty and Emily Kayte Dailey, Ansley and Kade Smith; two brothers, Rudolph Clark, Geneva, Dolin Clark, Opp; two sisters, Montez Spears and Patricia Thrash of Pensacola, Florida; several nieces and nephews; and special friends: Residents and staff of Somerset Assisted Living and Wesley Manor, and Dr. Edwin Morriss III and Allison and Covenant Hospice.Mrs. Anderson grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
