Gloria C. Burgoon

Gloria C. Burgoon, a resident of Dothan passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at her residence. She was 85.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Friday, May 28, 2010 at St. Columba Catholic Church with Monsignor Patrick Gallagher officiating and Robert Byrd of Sunset Funeral Home directing.Ms. Burgoon was born on September 18, 1924 in the Republic of Panama and lived there until 1979. Ms. Burgoon was employed with the U. S. Air Force as a Civil Engineer for thirty-seven years prior to her retirement. She moved to Dothan in 1979 and resided here for the past thirty-one years. Mrs. Burgoon was a volunteer for the Wiregrass Museum of Arts and was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church.Survivors include her son, Joey Burgoon of Dothan; her two daughters, Glorie Wright and her husband Duane of Miami, FL and Elizabeth Lyle and her husband Jeffrey of Germany; her seven grandchildren, Kimberly Lyle, Jayme Burgoon, Jacqui Burgoon, Victoria Lyle, JoBeth Burgoon, Natalie Lyle, and Jillian Burgoon; her sister, Elsie Zuniga of the Republic of Panama; three nephews, Raul, Roberto, and Rafalito Zuniga; and her niece, Lourdes Zuniga all of the Republic of Panama.
